So, I’m reading the new issue of Tape Op magazine (recording gear and tips), and I noticed this little blurb in the letters section. It’s really neat that not only does Flans read the same magazine as me, but he wrote to them as well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLANS. Here’s “Overalls.” This is a short song that was improvised on 6/17/98 at the Acme Underground in New York City. It was John Flansburgh’s way of copping out of a live performance of “Hillbilly Drummer Girl,” which was on the setlist but replaced with this song. The song’s theme derives from the fact that most of the members of Mono Puff were sporting overalls that night.
